The Book
Frederic Ozanam, principal founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, was an extraordinary man. Many called him the “angel of charity” because in Frederic’s life, the poor took center stage next to Jesus Christ. He exemplifies the person in whom faith and action meet, in whom intelligence and holiness shine.
In the book, Hosanna!, which in Hebrew means save/rescue, the author brings forth Frederic’s life, family, devotion, and works. He tells of Frederic’s great loves and beliefs. The author reveals what happened to Frederic’s devoted wife, daughter, and two brothers after his death.
